The External Hook is a professional tool used for efficient salvage
of fallen objects (such as broken drill pipes, casings, metal
debris, etc.) in oilfield drilling and well repair operations. It
is made of high-strength alloy material and optimized hook body
design, and quickly restores the continuity of wellbore operations
through precise hooking and locking functions. It is suitable for a
variety of well types and complex working conditions (high
temperature, high pressure, acidic environment), significantly
reducing the risk of stuck drill and downtime losses, and is the
core salvage equipment for oilfield rescue and well repair
operations.

Working principle
The External Hook produced and sold by our company Huichi petro is
usually made of high-strength alloy steel and has the
characteristics of durability. Its structural design is unique, and
the hook part has been specially treated with good toughness and
wear resistance. During the salvage operation, the External Hook is
connected to the bottom of the drill pipe and lowered to the
location of the fallen object in the well through the drill pipe.
The operator controls the rotation and lowering depth of the drill
pipe according to the downhole situation, so that the hook part of
the outer hook can accurately hook the fallen objects. After
confirming that the outer hook has firmly hooked the fallen
objects, slowly lift the drill pipe and use the grip of the outer
hook to salvage the fallen objects from the well. The design of the
outer hook can adapt to fallen objects of different shapes and
sizes, which improves the success rate of salvage operations.

Core functions and features
1. Efficient salvage design
o Strengthened hook structure: The hook head is forged with
wear-resistant alloy steel, and the hook tip angle and curvature
are optimized. It can accurately hook the fallen objects in the
well (such as fish tops and casing fractures), and the gripping
force is more than 150kN.
o Multi-specification adaptation: Supports API standard casing
(5″-13⅜″), adapts to vertical wells, horizontal wells and
high-angle well operations, and is compatible with continuous
tubing (CTU) and conventional drill pipe systems.
2. Corrosion and wear resistance
o The material is made of chrome-molybdenum steel or nickel-based
alloy, which can withstand high temperature (-30℃ to 150℃), high
pressure (≤10000psi) and corrosive environment containing hydrogen
sulfide, extending the service life of the tool.
3. Flexible operation mode
o Rotating outer hook (optional): The hook body can rotate 360°,
and cooperate with the jar or hydraulic disassembly frame (maximum
torque 300kN·m) to enhance the salvage efficiency and reduce the
number of trips.
o Modular design: The split structure of the hook head and the
connecting rod supports the rapid replacement of wear parts, and
the maintenance cost is reduced by more than 30%.
4. Intelligent monitoring function (optional)
o Integrated pressure sensor, real-time feedback of hook load data
to the ground system, early warning of overload risks, and ensuring
operation safety.
